Boyne Valley Vineyards Featured in the Petoskey News!

We’re so excited have the Petoskey news write an article on the opening of our new tasting room!

WALLOON LAKE — As they prepare to open a wine tasting room near Walloon Lake this fall, Boyne Valley Vineyards owners Tom and Christi Mahaney see opportunities to offer customers a unique atmosphere and experiences on their rolling acreage.

The Mahaneys aim to have the tasting room open by mid-October — with a grand opening party planned for Oct. 12 — at 5325 N. U.S. 131, between Country Club and Bear River roads in Melrose Township.

Early on, Tom Mahaney expects to have seven wine varieties to offer, along with cider sourced from an outside producer and a limited menu of hors d’oeuvres. With their grape-growing efforts still getting established, the couple are relying primarily on grapes sourced from other Michigan producers for their early wine-making, but Mahaney noted that they aim to draw exclusively from their own vines within four to five years…
